This session will present an opportunity for leadership awareness and skill development in the participants’ pursuit of building anti-racist cultures within the professional spaces they occupy. This includes learning tools and skills to self-reflect, redress power imbalances, and establish institutional accountability as a means of eliminating racism in our health system.

This session will allow new chairs to understand better what the Chair position entails and the different ways they can prepare for being a well-equipped FM Chair. The panel will share insights and experience on being a chair in various life stages, such as: early career, as a parent to young children, as a spouse, etc. Participants will also gain knowledge on the programs in place to support chairs as well as key relationships in academic health centers.
